More Information about Patrice
At the age of seventeen, I was well on my way to pursuing a lifestyle in the holistic health field. I was introduced to yoga in the mid 70's by my older sister and got my fingers dirty in the earth of my mother's organic garden.
In 1979, I moved to Buda, Texas, just south of Austin, Texas. There, I started Buda Produce Company, an organic herb farm. Buda Produce was one of the first suppliers of organic herbs to the original Whole Foods Market in Austin.
After moving back to the east coast in the mid 80's, I began working in the field of landscape design and interior design. I was a sub-contractor for Ralph Lauren and Lynn Morgan Design, before starting my own consulting business (Open Space Design), which focuses on green building materials and natural fabrics.
In the midst of my career, I met my mentor, Bill Atkinson (set designer for MGM Studios, including set design for The Wizard of Oz), who gave me inspiration. Together, we co-founded Windgate, a holistic retreat center, which included workshops and classes in nutrition, arts, and healing.
